Late Dr Edwin Idoko Obe First Medical Doctor from Idoma Land (Osonyenta K’Idoma and Odejo Owukpa) was born on 3rd April 1937 in Ai’Roga, Itabono-Owukpa and began his primary education in Otukpo in 1942 following the relocation by his family from Owukpa to Otukpo a couple of years earlier.



Dr. Michael Onazi Agbo was the first Medical Doctor in southern part of ldoma Ador Local Government Area. He was born into the prestigious family of Mr. And Mrs. Agbo Ostima in Aikwu Aiona Ogai (Ogongo Royal Clan of Aigbidogu Igumale) in 1935. His father Chief Agbo Ostima, a proud father contested for the royal stool of Ostapa Igumale in 1954. His mother Oyiga was blue blooded Princess of Chief Otsapa Onazi II in Aiona compound in Igumale. Chief Otsapa Onazi ruled from 1918 to 1923 in Igumale.

He attended Methodist Central School Igumale the premier school in Idoma land for his primary education, thereafter, he taught briefly at Methodist Central School Otobi. He attended St. George’s College Enugu where he distinguished himself in science subjects. Sequel to that,he was admitted to study medicine in school of Hygiene Kano, the only Medical College in Northern Nigeria at the early part of 1960. After the successful completion of his studies in Kano, he was posted to General Hospital Sokoto as the first indigenous Medical Doctor. He was the first Medical Doctor in southern part of ldoma of Ador Local Government Area.

As retiree, he continued practicing his profession as a Medical Doctor. He established the popular Apa Clinic at N03, New market Road Otukpo in Benue State, where he rendered philanthropic medical service to the people of all classes. He later worked at Salem Hospital Otukpo as Medical Consultant from 1998 – 2003 when he decided to live an independent life. He was member of the Nigerian Medical Council.

His death occurred on 28th March, 2010 after a brief illness. He was given full military burial as an officer in his home town in Ogongo, Igumale, Ador Local Government of Benue State.

He is survived by many children amongst whom are Augustus Agbo , Agbo Agbo (Ejifa), Jonathan Agbo, Michael Itodo Agbo, Ochera Agbo, Odeh Agbo, Agbo Agbo (Jr), Ochima Agbo, Obande Agbo and Solomon Ozoko Agbo (Youngest son) he is equally blessed with many daughters of great virtues who are all married happily. Married to Mrs. Aje Agbo, the wife on his side while he passed on at the age of 72 years  with many grand children.

PROFESSOR  MICHAEL  UMALE  ADIKWU.First Idoma to win Nigerian Academy of Science award. was born on 19th April 1963 in Amejo, Okpokwu Local Government Area. He started his education at St. Paul’s Primary School, Utonkon between 1970 and 1975 before proceeding to Federal Government College, Jos in 1976. In 1981, Professor Adikwu graduated from high school as the overall best student at Federal Government College, Jos and in same year he gained admission to University of Nigeria, Nsukka to read Pharmacy.
