Everything is ready for the 28th Annual Convention of the Idoma Association USA.
The annual conference aims to foster unity among the Idoma people in the United States of America as well as economic and educational advancement among our communities in Nigeria.
The event this year is scheduled for August 1-3, 2024, at the Sheraton Hotel and Resort, 125 Raritan Center Parkway, Edison, NJ 08837. Its theme is “The Effect of Security on the Economic Development of Idomaland.”

The association’s National President, Dr. Edwin Ochai, stated in a statement released on Friday that in addition to notable Idoma sons and daughters, the convention is expected to draw notable Nigerians, such as Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro, HRH Elaigwu Odogbo (Och’Idoma V), and the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hycainth Alia.
He claimed that other Idoma sons and daughters throughout the globe would be able to see the ceremony live through media streaming.
Regarding the rationale for the event’s topic, Ochai stated, “Insecurity is a major impediment to our development as well as a threat to our lives.” Our hopes for social advancement and economic success will never materialize in the absence of security. A safe environment is the cornerstone on which a strong economy may be constructed. The threat of violence and instability deters investors, both domestic and foreign. In an environment where safety is not assured, businesses cannot thrive. It is obvious that protecting our people and property must come first in order to draw in investment, generate jobs, and spur economic progress.
Idoma Association USA is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that was founded in the US with the goals of fostering Idoma unity in the US and Nigeria, as well as the advancement of economic and educational development within our communities.
